Silly Symphonies — The China Shop
For my birthday I got the Beauty and the Beast 3d BluRay. It looks really awesome, I love the Samsung 3d tv! On the bonus disc, there is a Making of Featurette with two Silly Symphony cartoons. There is one called The China Shop, in which I immediately fell in love with the old man who owns the shop. He is so endearing. The end had me laughing so hard because I really love the way he didn’t panic and made the best out of the situation.

The New 2011 Fall Television Season
So since I got my TiVo and a tv, I was excited when the new fall season began in September of this year. I tried watching the following shows:
2 Broke Girls (Comedy on CBS)
Pan Am (Drama on ABC)
The New Girl (Comedy on FOX)
Charlie’s Angels (Drama on ABC)
The X-Factor (Reality singing contest on FOX)
So, the ones I liked and still watch are 2 Broke Girls, The New Girl, and The X-Factor.
2 Broke Girls is about a girl named Caroline whose family just lost their millions of dollars and now she is penniless and working as a waitress. She meets Max, a wise-cracking waitress who allows her to move in and stay in her apartment. Caroline is bubbly and a little naive, but she has a heart of gold and good business sense. Max has never had it easy and likes to drown her troubles while she bakes cupcakes. Max and Caroline are trying to start a cupcake business. Caroline owns a horse, that was something she was able to keep when her family lost their fortune. The show has some hilarious jokes and has some naughtiness to it. I love when they drink coffee and sit on their horse, Chestnut. By the way, Max is played by Kat Dennings, who looks a lot like Hilary Duff. She was in the movie, Nick and Norah’s infinite Playlist.
I also watch The New Girl, starring Zooey Deschanel. This show is awesome. Except the pilot had a hilarious guy that wasn’t able to stay on the show (Damon Wayans, Jr) because his other show, Happy Endings, got picked up. So they replaced him with a different, less funny, black guy. Zooey plays Jess, who is a teacher that just moved in to an apartment with 3 guys. She is very quirky and likes to sing and is strange. Reminds me of myself! A great show that I am looking forward to. It has been on a short break for a little while because FOX couldn’t figure out there scheduling because of the World Series.
The X-Factor. I only watch this because Cheryl Cole from Girls Aloud was originally chosen as a judge but then she was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger. I watched 2 Seasons of the UK version online and liked it, so I am watching the American version. I think Nicole makes an awesome judge and am rooting for Josh Krajcik or Melanie Amaro to win.

Sticks and Stones – Nicola Roberts
Nicola was picked to be in the girl group, Girls Aloud, on a reality competition. She was 17. She was called “the ugly one” by the press, and most notably, Chris Moyles called her a “sour-faced cow”. Nicola has now embraced her pale skin and red hair and is happy with herself. Which makes this song so sweet.

Taylor Swift, in concert
Okay…so I’m a mild Taylor Swift fan. I listen to her songs and I have listened to her latest cd, Speak Now a few times all the way through. I’ve always appreciated her song-writing talent and sweet nature. So my boyfriend and I went to see her in concert, the last of four sold-out Los Angeles Staples Center performances on 8/28/11. Before the show even began, someone started a wave. It took a few attempts but once it got going, the wave went around the entire Staples Center a few times! It was so awesome!
All I can say is wow. It was truly one of the best shows I have ever seen. The entire arena was filled with a warm, kind feeling that only Taylor Swift could create. The show was amazing and filled with surprises. Ellen DeGenerous showed up and played the triangle and a washboard.
The biggest surprise of the night was when Nicki Minaj showed up and they sang Super Bass together. The crowd, and myself, went nuts.
It’s safe to say that now I’m a bigger fan of T-Swizzle.

Nicola Roberts new video, Lucky Day
She doesn’t want to wear any pants. The video reminds me of Mini Viva’s “I Wish”.

Nippy Noya is the man
I’ve been really into this Brazilian jazz band for a few months now. This song is really awesome and features an amazing percussionist named Nippy Noya (he appears at the 3:20 mark).
Watch this to relax and maybe have a few laughs (the drummer’s stoned look is hilarious).

3 Lego minifigures are going to Jupiter
They are traveling on the Juno probe to reach Jupiter by 2016. Lego made 3 minifigures out of aluminum (which cost $5,ooo apiece to make) to ride in the NASA’s Juno probe. The 3 minifigures are: Jupiter, who holds a thunderbolt; Juno (Jupiter’s wife), who holds a magnifying glass; and Galileo (who holds a planet Jupiter sphere and a telescope). NASA and Lego are awesome! But, the minifigures will be destroyed after Juno’s mission is complete because it will burn up through Jupiter’s atmosphere.

Jem will be re-released on dvd by Shout Factory!
In 2004, the original 1985 series Jem was released by Rhino in 2 dvd sets. The first set were both Seasons 1 and 2 and the second dvd set was Season 3: Part 1. Rhino lost the rights to Sony before they could release Season 3: Part 2. This left a lot of disgruntled fans who couldn’t complete their dvd collections! I was among them.
Now, creator Christy Marx has stated that Shout Factory is currently working on putting out the dvds, as they have contacted her to do voice-over commentary. The dvds will come out sometime in 2011.
I am so excited, finally!!! Now we just need Nickelodeon to put out the rest of the Pete and Pete dvds.

Nicola Roberts – YES!!!
Finally, Nicola’s music is out. First single is called Beat of My Drum. I LOVE IT! Very unique and dancy dance. Unfortunately, you can’t watch the video if you live in the US. You can go to aloudsound.net to check it out, though. Edited to add: Video now embedded so you can watch!
Another album track is called Porcelain Heart. Slower, but still awesome!
